Rydges on Swanston features 107 guest rooms, located in one of Melbourne’s best-known cosmopolitan districts, Carlton. Yes, The Pool Deck can be booked for exclusive events when certain minimum spends are reached. No other guests will be permitted into the area during your event.
The Pool Deck is a versatile space, one that can accommodate any group size up to 300 guests maximum.
All events on The Pool Deck need to conclude by 11:00pm due to licencing. For those guests that wish to kick on after this time, they are welcome to head down to the main hotel bar which can stay open until 01:00am.
No problem, a wet weather option is always provided!
The decking area itself is fully weatherproof and can accommodate up to 120 guests cocktail style; should numbers exceed this, an alternate space within the hotel will be provided.
A lifeguard is a required should guests wish to use the pool throughout an event. This is a legal requirement.
For events that serve alcohol for a three hour duration and above require security guards.
An event with 100 guests in attendance requires two security guards and one security guard for every additional 50 guests.
Access to the space is 30 minutes prior and with 30 minutes post event.
We understand additional time is sometimes required to set up so will always do our best to offer additional time wherever possible.
You are most welcome to theme any of the event spaces including The Pool Deck.
Absolutely, all dietary requirements are easily catered for. These requirements would need to be advised no less than one week prior to the event.
All food and beverage is supplied by the hotel, we unfortunately do not allow for any outside catering.
Yes, all of our event rooms offer inbuilt screens and data projectors. There is also additional AV equipment available on request.
The hotel also offers complimentary WiFi throughout the hotel.
Each event will have a banquet manager assigned and this person can assist with connecting your laptop and help get you started.
For any event that has a great deal of technical requirements, it is recommended an AV technician is arranged for the duration of the event.
To secure an event, a 30% deposit (of the estimated event spend) is required within seven days. A further 30% pre-payment is required 30 days out from the event and the final balance due seven days prior to the event.
For any additional costs incurred on the day of the event, these must be finalised prior to departure by credit/debit card. Please note we do not invoice post event.
WiFi is complimentary throughout the hotel, in both accommodation rooms and event rooms.
Accommodation check in is 2:00pm and check out 11:00am.
Room service is available from 6:00am until 10:00pm

There are 40 on site car parks available at $25.00 per day. Car parks cannot be reserved and are subject to availability.
It is a 15 minute walk to Melbourne Central or 3 tram stops.
Yes, access is from the underground car park and offers direct access to all levels of the hotel.
